Responsibilities
The Dual Ticketed Journeyman Plumber will maintain and repair firewater systems, perform underground installations, and support fire protection operations.
- Preventative and corrective maintenance on fire protection systems
- Install, test, and repair piping and valves (2"-24")
- Work in deep underground and confined spaces
- Operate equipment such as loaders, HydroVac, EWP
- Perform flow tests and winterization tasks
- Conduct inspections and risk assessments
- Adhere to site safety standards
Requirements
Candidates must hold dual journeyman certification and possess valid safety tickets and driving credentials.
- Journeyman Plumber + second related Journeyman ticket
- Water-based fire protection experience preferred
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean abstract
- CSO or equivalent, WHMIS 2015
- Physically fit and capable of working outdoors
- Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills
- Teamwork and client-focused attitude
- Fluent in English; must be clean shaven

Horizon Oil Sands Project
The Horizon Oil Sands Project, located approximately 70 kilometers north of Fort McMurray in Alberta, Canada, is a significant oil sands mining and upgrading operation owned and operated by Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL). The project encompasses surface mining of bitumen, extraction, and on-site upgrading to produce high-quality synthetic crude oil (SCO). Since its inception, Horizon has undergone several expansions to enhance production capacity and operational efficiency. As of 2024, the mine produces approximately 250,000 barrels per day of SCO, with plans to increase capacity by an additional 195,000 barrels per day. The project is a key contributor to Albertas energy sector and plays an important role in Canadas oil production.
