Responsibilities
The Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter will handle the installation, maintenance, and testing of natural gas piping systems for camp facilities.
- Read blueprints and determine NG pipe layout
- Install underground and above-ground piping systems
- Thread and join pipes, test for leaks
- Cut and measure pipe fittings
- Ensure compliance with safety standards
- Train and mentor apprentices
- Maintain accurate work orders and documentation
- Assist with other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Candidates must hold both plumbing and gas fitting certifications and have relevant industrial experience.
- Red Seal or Alberta Journeyman Plumber certification
- Journeyman Gas Fitter Class A or B preferred
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Valid CSTS and OSSA or CSO certification
- Minimum 3 years of oilfield experience
- Proficient in threading and reading blueprints
- Experience with DR11 Poly gas line
- High school diploma preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and teamwork skills
- Fluent in English

Horizon Oil Sands Project
The Horizon Oil Sands Project, located approximately 70 kilometers north of Fort McMurray in Alberta, Canada, is a significant oil sands mining and upgrading operation owned and operated by Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL). The project encompasses surface mining of bitumen, extraction, and on-site upgrading to produce high-quality synthetic crude oil (SCO). Since its inception, Horizon has undergone several expansions to enhance production capacity and operational efficiency. As of 2024, the mine produces approximately 250,000 barrels per day of SCO, with plans to increase capacity by an additional 195,000 barrels per day. The project is a key contributor to Albertas energy sector and plays an important role in Canadas oil production.
