Responsibilities
The Heavy Equipment Operator will ensure safe and efficient operation of mining equipment while maintaining high safety standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Operate large equipment including loaders, excavators, graders, hook trucks, and dump trucks.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections and functionality checks.
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment safety and reliability.
- Clean and maintain equipment to preserve performance and longevity.
- Carry out minor repairs and report major issues to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and maintenance activities.
- Adhere to all company safety procedures and regulations.
Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate proven experience and qualifications for heavy equipment operation. Requirements include:
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment in mining or industrial settings.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (Class 3 minimum).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to inspect, maintain, and perform minor repairs on equipment.
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in challenging outdoor environments.
- Strong work ethic, detail-oriented, and able to multitask under deadlines.
- Must pass pre-employment testing requirements.
