Responsibilities
The Heavy Equipment Operator supports site services and infrastructure at B2Gold’s Goose Project by operating mobile equipment safely and completing seasonal maintenance in a remote Nunavut environment.
- Operate loaders, dozers, challenger tractors, skid steers, telehandlers, and Nodwell units to meet daily site requirements.
- Complete snow removal, road maintenance, and general site activities to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
- Perform material movement, snow clearing, pad maintenance, airstrip maintenance, and other site-specific duties as assigned.
- Follow all mine site safety protocols and comply with operational procedures at all times.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment remains safe and operational.
- Monitor equipment performance and promptly report deficiencies, safety issues, or mechanical concerns.
- Clean and maintain equipment, supporting readiness and reliability in harsh conditions.
- Support general maintenance activities as required by the Facilities team.
- Participate in site services tasks including garbage removal and pacto toilet emptying.
Requirements
Candidates must have practical heavy equipment experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work independently in northern weather and remote industrial conditions.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, skid steers, and tractors.
- Experience with Nodwell units or tracked carriers considered an asset.
- Experience working in northern, remote, or industrial work environments.
- Strong awareness of mine site safety protocols and hazard recognition.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing weather and operational demands.
- Physically capable of performing cleaning, lifting, and general maintenance tasks as part of daily duties.
