De Beers Group is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator on a two-year contract for the Gahcho Kué Diamond Mine, located in the Northwest Territories. This fly-in/fly-out role includes full camp accommodations and operates on a 14 days in, 14 days out rotation. The position offers vacation entitlement, benefits, and a bonus opportunity. Reporting to the Mining Supervisor, the operator will handle large-scale mining equipment such as haul trucks, dozers, shovels, loaders, and excavators to support ore and waste production in the open pit. Responsibilities

Operators will support mine pit production by safely handling heavy mobile equipment. Responsibilities include:

  • Operating heavy equipment including haul trucks, dozers, loaders, excavators, and shovels.
  • Conducting pre-operational safety checks and inspections.
  • Monitoring equipment performance and reporting issues.
  • Following all mine procedures, safety, and environmental protocols.
  • Communicating clearly with supervisors and team via radio.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following qualifications to be considered:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Qualified to operate at least three types of equipment (e.g., PC5500/WA1200/Haul Trucks).
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in open-pit or remote mining sites.
  • Able to work 12-hour shifts, day and night, in a rotational schedule.
  • Must work well in a fast-paced, safety-driven, multicultural setting.
  • Resume must list make and model of equipment operated.
  • Not a training position-applicants must meet stated experience.
