Responsibilities

The General Manager will lead all aspects of the Back River site's mining operations and logistics, with full accountability for performance, safety, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Oversee mine operations, departments, and contractors
  • Manage Marine Laydown Area and Winter Ice Road logistics
  • Direct resource allocation to meet goals and budgets
  • Lead compliance with IIBA and stakeholder relations
  • Develop and execute strategic and operational plans
  • Ensure safety programs and culture are upheld
  • Mitigate operational risks
  • Ensure environmental compliance and promote sustainable practices

Requirements

Ideal candidates will have extensive leadership experience in remote mining and logistics, with strong credentials and Indigenous engagement expertise.

  • Minimum 20 years in mining leadership, 5 years managing department heads in FIFO camps
  • Experience in marine shipping and ice road operations
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
  • Professional certification (e.g., P.Eng, PMP, P.Log)
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience with Indigenous Impact Benefit Agreements
