Dexterra Group, through its Horizon North-Shared Spirits joint venture, is hiring General Helpers for the West Red Lake Gold Project at the Madsen Mine in Madsen, Ontario. This kitchen support position includes full camp accommodations, meals, a private room with cable TV, laundry access, Wi-Fi, and gym amenities. Flights and ground travel are provided from locations in Winnipeg, Red Lake, and surrounding areas. The role operates on a 2-week on/2-week off rotation.

The General Helper supports kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, stocking supplies, and assisting with food preparation in a remote camp setting.
- Clean and organize kitchen, lunchrooms, servery, and storage areas
- Sweep and mop floors, including coolers and storerooms
- Stock food, beverages, and disposables
- Dispose of garbage, cardboard, and recyclables
- Assist with food production
- Receive and store supplies
Requirements
Ideal candidates have experience in kitchen or camp support roles and can manage physically demanding tasks in a team environment.
- Experience in large-scale kitchens, camps, hotels, or banquet halls preferred
- Food Safe certification is an asset
- Valid government-issued photo ID required for travel
- Physically fit to lift 50 lbs, climb, kneel, and work overhead
- Ability to commit to 2 week rotation

The Madsen Mine is a historic underground gold mine located about 10 kilometers southwest of Red Lake, Ontario. First established in 1938, the mine has had multiple periods of activity and has produced over 2 million ounces of gold throughout its history. In 2023, West Red Lake Gold Mines acquired the mine and its 47-square-kilometer property, with plans to restart production and revitalize the site. The company is actively preparing for a production mining and milling ramp-up in the second quarter of 2025. Key developments include completing a pre-feasibility study and advancing site readiness activities such as the installation of a 114-person camp and the commissioning of a primary crusher. These efforts are part of a larger strategy to reestablish the Madsen Mine as a significant contributor to the Red Lake gold district.
