ML Northern is hiring Fuel & Lube Technicians for the Suncor project in Fort McMurray, AB. The role involves fueling and greasing mining and support equipment while adhering to strict safety standards. The schedule follows a 14/7 rotation with 12-hour shifts. Camp accommodations may be available, and flights to and from Edmonton or Calgary may be provided. This is a unionized position under IUOE Local 955.

Responsibilities
The Fuel & Lube Technician will be responsible for fueling and greasing heavy mining equipment while maintaining safety and compliance.
- Fueling and greasing mining and support equipment
- Assist with general yard cleanup and maintenance tasks
- Support mechanics and servicepersons with various duties
- Work in physically demanding conditions, including adverse weather
- Ensure compliance with all company, client, and regulatory safety policies
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Review and follow safe work plans and hazard assessments
- Conduct equipment walk-arounds, safety checks, and risk assessments
- Report necessary repairs and maintenance issues to supervisors
- Report incidents, near misses, or equipment damage immediately
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have experience in fueling and lubrication operations and possess the necessary certifications.
- Valid Class 3 Driver's License with Air Brake Endorsement
- Ability to operate a standard vehicle
- Experience in fueling and lubrication is preferred
- Experience operating a forklift, bobcat, and loader is an asset
- Aerial Work Platform (AWP) and Fall Arrest Certification are assets
- High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education is considered an asset
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written
- Strong safety-first mindset
- Valid CSO certification
- Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness certification
- Silica Awareness certification
- OHS Alberta Legislation certification
- Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness certification
