Field Supervisor - Horizon Oil Sands - 7 On / 7 Off Nightshift - FIFO

The Supervisor will oversee crews, enforce safety, ensure quality, and contribute to operational success at the CNRL Horizon site.
- Supervise and schedule operators and laborers
- Assign work based on site and worker conditions
- Conduct inspections and monitor compliance
- Evaluate performance and conduct audits
- Approve FLHAs and attend safety meetings
- Support training, coaching, and safety improvement
- Estimate and manage equipment and labor needs
- Control costs and report to Site Manager
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Applicants must have substantial leadership and equipment operation experience along with relevant certifications.
- 5-7 years of leadership experience
- 5-10 years as equipment operator
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License (Class 1 or 3 is an asset)
- CSTS and OSSA or CSO required
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
- Advanced MS Office skills; Maximo experience an asset
- Strong safety, evaluation, and conflict resolution skills
- Combination of education and experience considered

Horizon Oil Sands Project
The Horizon Oil Sands Project, located approximately 70 kilometers north of Fort McMurray in Alberta, Canada, is a significant oil sands mining and upgrading operation owned and operated by Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL). The project encompasses surface mining of bitumen, extraction, and on-site upgrading to produce high-quality synthetic crude oil (SCO). Since its inception, Horizon has undergone several expansions to enhance production capacity and operational efficiency. As of 2024, the mine produces approximately 250,000 barrels per day of SCO, with plans to increase capacity by an additional 195,000 barrels per day. The project is a key contributor to Albertas energy sector and plays an important role in Canadas oil production.
