Condition Monitoring Technician - Gahcho Kue Diamond Mine - FIFO
De Beers Group is recruiting a Condition Monitoring Technician to join the Process Plant Maintenance & Reliability team at the Gahcho Ku� Mine in Canada on a 2-weeks on/2-weeks off fly-in/fly-out schedule. Reporting to the Reliability Superintendent - Fixed Plant, the role leads condition monitoring programs-vibration, thermography, ultrasound, lubrication analysis-and supports millwright activities to improve equipment reliability and availability across rotating and fixed assets. Responsibilities
This role drives predictive maintenance excellence across the process plant by leading condition monitoring programs and converting data into actionable maintenance strategies.
- Lead and maintain condition monitoring programs and technologies: thermography, vibration, ultrasound, and lubrication analysis.
- Perform vibration analysis, oil analysis/filtration, thermography, NDT testing, failure investigations, and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with Reliability Engineers and Planners to develop strategies and procedures that extend equipment life cycles.
- Provide recommendations to support troubleshooting, preventive, and predictive maintenance for safe, reliable production.
- Continuously develop and implement condition monitoring on rotating and fixed equipment aligned to operational plans.
- Lead the transition from manual data collection to online monitoring for critical assets.
- Develop systems to reduce task time and streamline condition monitoring applications on components.
- Investigate, support, or lead special condition monitoring projects with the Reliability team and vendors.
- Complete job risk assessments and safe work plans prior to work; champion safety performance and reporting.
- Engage daily with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to share insights and resolve machinery issues.
- Monitor and act on incident statistics; identify downtime/breakdown causes and implement improvement plans.
- Audit condition monitoring programs to maintain quality and ensure safe, compliant operations.
- Synthesize complex data into actionable recommendations for Maintenance Planners.
- From time to time, fulfill aspects of the millwright artisan role as operationally required.
Requirements
Successful candidates bring Red Seal millwright credentials, advanced condition monitoring certifications, and proven experience applying predictive technologies in heavy industrial environments.
- Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Millwright Certification.
- Vibration ISO Category II and Machine Lubrication Analyst (MLA I or II) credentials.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in condition monitoring and maintenance techniques (mining or similar industry preferred).
- Skilled in general millwright tasks and troubleshooting equipment availability problems.
- Self-motivated with strong time management, organization, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Basic computer literacy with aptitude to learn new systems; SAP and Fluke/Pr�ftechnik vibration tools experience is an asset.
