Snap Lake Diamond Mine
The Snap Lake Diamond Mine, located 220 km northeast of Yellowknife, NT, was owned and operated by De Beers Canada. Operating from 2008 to 2015, it produced high-quality diamonds, including valuable pink and yellow diamonds. Despite its challenging location and harsh climate, the mine adhered to high environmental standards and innovative sustainable mining practices. Decommissioned in 2015, the closure project is now in progress under the Nuna Group of Companies and Metacor Inc.
