Operating on a fly-in, fly-out basis, Ekati Diamond Mine offers a unique work experience with challenging weather conditions during long winters and cold summers.

Equipment Operator - Utility 1 Materials and Logistics

Responsibilities include checking and sorting incoming freight deliveries, offloading and loading aircraft, participating in Winter Road activities, and delivering fuel and lubes. Must operate various equipment such as loaders, forklifts, skid steers, zoom booms, and bulk fuel tankers. Requires physical endurance and ability to work in extreme cold weather conditions.

Equipment Operator - Utility 2

Responsibilities include water and sewer delivery, sump disposal, road and runway maintenance, dewatering management, and operating a variety of heavy equipment such as loaders, rock trucks, dozers, excavators, graders, snow cats, and packers. Requires physical endurance and ability to work in extreme cold weather conditions.

Specific equipment includes 777 and 730 rock trucks, tractor trailers, D6 and D10 dozers, 325, 329, 374, and 390 excavators, 14M, 16M, and 18M graders, and other equipment.

Equipment Operator - Utility 2 Materials and Logistics

Similar to the Utility 1 role, but at a higher level of responsibility, including leadership tasks and mentoring other employees. Responsibilities include checking and sorting incoming freight deliveries, offloading and loading aircraft, participating in Winter Road activities, and delivering fuel and lubes. Must operate various equipment such as loaders, forklifts, skid steers, zoom booms, and bulk fuel tankers. Requires physical endurance and ability to work in extreme cold weather conditions.
