As an oil sands labourer, your role will include but is not limited to the following.
- Assisting with general site operations at the CNRL Albian Oil Sands Project.
- Filling water tanks as needed.
- Conducting site clean-up and maintenance.
- Installing signage according to highway standards.
- Snow and ice removal.
- Painting when required.
- Proper tool storage.
- Setting up and operating de-watering systems.
- Acting as a flag person.
- Spotting for loaders and other equipment.
- Repairing walkway holes.
- Preparing pads for cranes.
- Grass cutting.
- Operating machinery like forklifts, skid steers, and zoom booms.
- Upholding a cooperative relationship with colleagues and customers.
- Additional tasks as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
Requirements for oil sands labourers for the Albian Oil Sands Project include the following.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Clean 5-year Driver Abstract within 30 days of starting work.
- Basic Safety Orientations: CSTS-2020, SCOT, WHMIS 2015, or equivalent.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
- Safety-conscious attitude.
- Comfortable working in fluctuating climates and environmental conditions.
- Willingness to work in close proximity to water.
- Ability to pass Drug and Alcohol test and Fit for Duty test.
- Clean-shaven appearance for testing and beyond.
- Fluency in English (spoken, written, and reading).
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Albian Sands Energy Inc., the operator of the Muskeg River Mine and Jack Pine Mine, is a collaboration between Shell Canada, CNRL, and Chevron Canada. This oil sands mining project is also situated north of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada.
