One of the world's largest high-grade uranium mines, located in Saskatchewan.

The Cigar Lake Mine, located in northern Saskatchewan, Canada, is renowned as the world's highest-grade uranium mine. Operated by Cameco Corporation, the mine commenced production in 2014 and has since produced over 138 million pounds of uranium. The ore is processed at the McClean Lake mill, operated by Orano Canada, approximately 70 kilometers northeast of the mine site. Cameco employs an innovative jet-boring mining technique to safely extract the high-grade ore from the challenging deposit. In 2022, Cameco increased its ownership stake in Cigar Lake reinforcing its commitment to this vital asset in the global uranium supply chain.
