Morgan Construction and Environmental Ltd., a respected heavy civil contractor operating across Canada, is hiring Class 1 Lowbed Winch Drivers for its operations based out of Acheson or Fort McMurray, Alberta. The position offers a rotational schedule with 12-hour shifts and accommodations provided for remote work. Drivers will transport heavy equipment such as dozers, graders, and excavators using multi-axle winch trucks. Responsibilities

As a Class 1 Lowbed Winch Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting heavy equipment and ensuring vehicle compliance with site and road safety standards.

  • Operate tandem axle winch truck to load/unload equipment like dozers, graders, and loaders.
  • Secure loads using chains, tarps, and safety procedures.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
  • Maintain e-log books, FLHAs, and time sheets accurately.
  • Attend safety and toolbox meetings regularly.
  • Collaborate with internal/external clients in a professional manner.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria for consideration:

  • Minimum 1 year operating a tandem axle winch truck with multi-axle trailers.
  • Valid Class 1 driver's license with Air Brake endorsement.
  • Clean 5-year commercial driver's abstract.
  • Knowledge of oil & gas industry equipment and procedures.
  • Willing to work extended hours including weekends.
  • Must obtain safety tickets: CSTS/OSSA or BSO/CSO, H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance II, First Aid, Bear Awareness.
  • Physically fit - able to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
  • Pass alcohol, drug, and fit-for-work testing (mandatory).
