Voiseys Bay Mine

Located in northern Labrador, Canada, the Voisey's Bay Mine is a significant source of nickel, copper, and cobalt. In recent years, the operation has transitioned to underground mining to access deeper ore deposits, thereby extending the mine's life and production capacity. In August 2023, Vale, the company operating the mine, announced the commencement of underground production, marking a new phase in the mine's development. The Voisey's Bay Mine plays a crucial role in supplying nickel for the global battery market, particularly for electric vehicles, aligning with the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions.
