New Gold Inc. is hiring an Underground Electrician at its Rainy River Mine near Emo, Ontario. This residential gold and silver mine offers a 14/14 rotation with 12-hour shifts. Camp accommodations are available. The Underground Electrician will perform maintenance, repairs, installations, and electrical upgrades on mining fleet equipment, substations, transformers, and more, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency in an underground setting.

Responsibilities
The Underground Electrician is responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems across the underground mine. Responsibilities include:
- Participating in safety programs and maintaining safe work environments
- Complying with all safety, health, and environmental policies
- Executing preventive maintenance and minimizing downtime
- Installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and components
- Maintaining records and ensuring SAP work order compliance
- Working with Softstarts, VFDs, pumps, fans, and control systems
Requirements
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Grade 12 diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Interprovincial Electrician Trade Certification
- 3+ years of industrial experience
- Experience with high/low voltage systems, substations, and transformers
- Underground mining experience preferred
- Experience with Benshaw Soft-Starters and PLCs an asset
- Strong safety record and ability to work independently or in teams
- Good communication and computer skills, including CMMS experience
