Responsibilities
The Underground Automation Technician will manage automation systems and provide technical support for underground operations. Key duties include:
- Consulting with maintenance and operations on U/G automation systems
- Maintaining process control strategies safely
- Aligning controls with mine optimization goals
- Troubleshooting hardware/software issues: PLCs, HMI, networks
- Supporting day-to-day operations and production troubleshooting
- Participating in operational meetings
- Assisting in network design, commissioning, and equipment troubleshooting
Requirements
Candidates must meet the following qualifications for consideration:
- Experience with Rockwell PLCs and HMI
- Valid 309A/442A Electrical License, 447A Instrumentation Ticket, or related Engineering Degree
- Knowledge of Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, OPC/UA integration
- 3+ years in underground mining as Automation, Instrumentation Tech, or Electrician
- Fiber optics and managed network switch experience (Asset)
- LTE network experience in mining (Asset)
- Experience with DeltaV and SAP (Assets)
