Treatment Plant Operator - Rainy River Mine - Camp Work - Weekly Work Rotations

New Gold is seeking a skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator to join the Site Services team at the Rainy River Mine, located 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario. This open-pit gold and silver mining operation provides camp accommodations and operates on a 7/7 work rotation. The operator will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the mine's water treatment system, including potable water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Responsibilities

The Water Treatment Plant Operator will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the potable water and wastewater treatment systems at Rainy River Mine.

  • Monitor, test, and operate potable water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Oversee sanitary sewer lift stations and treatment systems.
  • Collect and analyze water samples for quality assurance.
  • Set up and monitor water flows to treatment trains and discharge locations.
  • Maintain logs, sampling records, and safety equipment such as eyewash stations.
  • Support fire suppression systems, including fire shacks and sprinkler systems.
  • Perform minor maintenance and housekeeping duties.

Requirements

Ideal candidates will have experience in wastewater treatment and possess relevant certifications.

  • 3+ years' experience in large industrial wastewater systems or related post-secondary education.
  • Previous experience in oilfield or mining environments is an asset.
  • Valid Level 2 Water Treatment Operator certification.
  • Valid Level 1 Wastewater Treatment certification.
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Valid G Driver's License.
