Responsibilities

The Tool Crib Attendant plays a crucial role in supporting mine maintenance by managing tool inventory and distribution efficiently and accurately. Key duties include:

  • Issuing tools as required to maintenance staff
  • Maintaining accurate records of tools taken and returned
  • Identifying broken tools and repairing or arranging repairs
  • Replacing missing tools
  • Organizing and putting parts away in proper locations
  • Ensuring the parts room is clean and well-organized

Requirements

The ideal candidate for the Tool Crib Attendant position should possess the following qualifications and skills to effectively manage tooling needs in a mining environment:

  • Experience with tooling to repair heavy equipment
  • Experience with parts manuals and identifying components and parts for repairs
  • Forklift training is an asset
