Surface Labourer (Winter 2026) - Brucejack Mine - 13x13 (FIFO) BC

The Surface Labourer supports winter surface operations at Brucejack Mine by completing snow removal, site maintenance, cleanup, material handling, and general labour duties that help maintain safe access and efficient mine operations throughout northern British Columbia's winter season.

• Assist with snow stacking and snow removal activities throughout the Brucejack Mine site.
• Perform manual snow shoveling around work areas, buildings, access points, and other assigned locations.
• Support winter site maintenance activities required to keep surface areas safe and accessible.
• Perform general housekeeping and site clean-up duties.
• Collect, move, organize, and handle materials as required for surface operations.
• Support construction projects and assist tradespeople with general labour tasks.
• Use hand tools and other assigned equipment to move materials and support site maintenance work.
• Assist with leveling ground and preparing work areas when required.
• Work outdoors in challenging winter weather and remote mine site conditions.
• Follow Newmont safety procedures, site policies, and required workplace training.
• Maintain safe work practices while completing snow removal and labour activities around active mine operations.
• Support the Winter Snow Removal Team in maintaining safe and efficient access across the Brucejack Mine site.

Candidates for the Surface Labourer position must be physically capable of performing demanding outdoor work in remote northern British Columbia winter conditions. The role requires a strong commitment to workplace safety, the ability to work 12-hour shifts, and the physical capacity to complete snow removal, material handling, and general labour duties.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be physically fit and capable of performing demanding general labour work.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Mining, industrial, construction, or previous general labour experience considered an asset.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence preferred.
• WHMIS certification considered an asset.
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification considered an asset.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong commitment to workplace and mine site safety.
• Ability to work safely outdoors in snow, cold temperatures, and challenging winter conditions.
• Must successfully complete required pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
