Newmont is seeking a Steam Truck Operator to join the Mobile Maintenance team at its Red Chris Mine in northern British Columbia, located near Dease Lake on Tahltan Nation territory. This fly-in/fly-out position includes camp accommodations, meals, gym access, Wi-Fi, and travel allowances. Working a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotation, the role is vital to equipment maintenance operations by pressure washing and steaming production, service, and support equipment in preparation for inspections and maintenance tasks.

As a Steam Truck Operator, you will clean heavy equipment essential to mine operations, helping maintain safety and reliability standards.
- Operate steam truck and pressure washers to clean production and service equipment
- Work outdoors year-round on 12-hour rotating day/night shifts
- Report equipment deficiencies and maintain cleanliness records
- Use computer systems for timesheets, work notes, and shift logs
- Support other maintenance activities as needed
Requirements
This role requires a mechanically inclined, safety-focused operator comfortable with physical work in all weather conditions.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license (with airbrake endorsement preferred)
- Experience in similar roles such as wash bay attendant or steam truck operator
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent preferred
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with manual transmission vehicles
