Newmont is hiring a Superintendent of Site Support for its Red Chris Mine, an open-pit copper and gold operation located near Dease Lake, British Columbia, on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. This is a fly-in/fly-out position with access from points across British Columbia and Alberta. The role is integral to the smooth operation of site logistics, camp services, and transportation, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and cost control. Responsibilities

The Superintendent of Site Support is responsible for leading and optimizing support operations at Red Chris Mine.

  • Oversee daily camp operations, catering services, and transportation logistics.
  • Manage aviation services and airport logistics for site personnel.
  • Ensure vendor and contract compliance with KPIs and budgets.
  • Implement safety initiatives and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive process improvements for logistical and cost efficiencies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities and stakeholders.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in site operations, logistics, or camp management, ideally in mining or remote environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a focus on team development.
  • Strong contract management, budgeting, and cost control skills.
  • Advanced understanding of safety management systems and risk mitigation practices.
  • Proven ability to manage complex vendor and stakeholder relationships.
