Parsons is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead and manage northern abandoned and active mine remediation projects in Yukon, including the Faro Mine Remediation Project. This critical leadership role requires exceptional safety leadership and extensive expertise in heavy civil construction, mine remediation, or mining operations. The Site Manager will provide overall site management, ensure compliance with environmental and health & safety regulations, lead multidisciplinary teams, and foster collaborative relationships with clients and stakeholders. Responsibilities
The Site Manager is responsible for overall leadership and management of site operations, ensuring safety, environmental compliance, quality, and team performance at northern mine remediation projects.
- Manage overall site operations to facilitate successful delivery of the Faro Mine Remediation Project (FMRP).
- Ensure compliance with Mine Health & Safety Act and Yukon Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
- Oversee environmental compliance with federal and territorial regulations.
- Maintain EHS systems, inspections, and audits.
- Support socio-economic project strategies.
- Set quality expectations and review/analyze standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Lead site teams providing environmental, geotechnical, health & safety, and security services.
- Act as liaison between Parsons and owner's leadership for EHS matters.
- Promote collaboration and teamwork with knowledgeable, timely input.
- Support management objectives and responsibilities across departments.
- Provide supervision, technical direction, motivation, career progression, and performance feedback.
- Plan, prioritize, and allocate resources to meet work and budget objectives.
- Monitor team performance and ensure maximum value for expenditures.
Requirements
Candidates must have extensive senior-level experience in heavy civil construction, mine remediation, or mining, with proven leadership and regulatory expertise in northern or similar environments.
- At least 12 years cumulative experience related to heavy civil construction, mine remediation/closure, mining, or heavy industrial operations.
- Minimum 8 years overall supervisory experience in relevant industries.
- Minimum 3 years senior supervisory experience managing multidisciplinary teams and enforcing site-wide management plans.
- Experience managing large workforces, sub-trades, and contractors across multiple projects in the last 5 years.
- Extensive knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Expected to achieve and maintain Mine Rescue Certification if physically able.
- Desired: Experience with northern projects (north of 60° latitude), freeze protection, and permafrost.
- Desired: Journeyperson ticket, technical diploma, PMP, engineering (P.Eng.), or geological (P.Geo.) certification.
- Desired: 20+ years experience in construction or mine remediation/mining.
- Desired: Expertise in detailed project design, scheduling, workflow tracking, and reporting.
- Desired: BC Mine Supervisor Certification or equivalent.
- Demonstrated strong leadership and team-building skills.
