Bus Driver/Equipment Operator - Brucejack Mine - 13/13 - FIFO

Newmont is seeking a Bus Driver/Equipment Operator for its Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mining operation in northern British Columbia, approximately 65 kilometers north of Stewart. This is a fly-in/fly-out position with pick-up points across Western Canada, providing convenience for employees from various regions. On-site accommodations include private rooms with individual washrooms, balanced meals, a 24-hour snack bar, fitness facilities, and recreational activities. Employees work on a 13 days on / 13 days off rotation in a remote camp setting, ensuring a balanced work-life schedule in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

The Bus Driver/Equipment Operator is responsible for safely transporting personnel and materials to and from the Brucejack Mine while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

  • Operate passenger buses, trucks, trailers, winch trucks, and off-road haulers safely.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections and maintain logbook documentation.
  • Secure and transport equipment, freight, and materials following safety standards.
  • Handle winching, load securement, and waste disposal as required.
  • Navigate challenging terrain and extreme weather conditions.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and operational protocols at all times.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Class 1 Driver�s License with a clean driver�s abstract.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hauling experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with winch trucks, vacuum trucks, and off-highway equipment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of logbook regulations, hazardous goods handling, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to adapt to mechanical issues and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs and work 12-hour shifts.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment medical screening and drug & alcohol testing.
