Ledcor is hiring a Screed Operator for highway construction projects across Alberta. This field-based position runs from May to November 2025 and requires travel across project sites. Responsibilities
The Screed Operator is responsible for ensuring smooth and precise asphalt paving operations on highway construction projects.
- Operate screed manually and with automatic controls for optimal asphalt placement.
- Manage tonnage control and conduct regular maintenance on screed equipment.
- Collaborate with other crew members for smooth paving operations.
- Set and verify screed angle, depth, and asphalt quantity specifications.
- Ensure even distribution of asphalt material across the road surface.
- Maintain compliance with Ledcor's Health & Safety programs and procedures.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience in screed operations and be physically capable of working in demanding conditions.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Screed Operator on highway construction projects.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
