The Sandwich Maker plays a critical role in the kitchen, preparing fresh, consistent, and well-presented sandwiches while maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards.
- Prepare sandwiches and specialty fillings (e.g., egg salad, tuna) following standard recipes.
- Assist with daily sandwich production for bagged lunch programs.
- Monitor and coordinate day-to-day sandwich setup and replenishment.
- Visually inspect food for quality, color, and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area including counters, equipment, and storage areas.
- Follow proper food rotation to reduce spoilage and waste.
- Ensure inventory levels of sandwich ingredients and packaging are maintained.
- Comply with hygiene and safety standards in all food handling and preparation tasks.
Requirements
Ideal candidates will have prior food service or mass-production sandwich experience and the ability to thrive in a remote camp kitchen environment.
- Experience in large-scale food preparation in camp, hotel, or banquet settings is an asset.
- Previous sandwich-making experience preferred.
- Current Food Safe certification preferred.
- Ability to commit to a 2-week on/2-week off rotational schedule.
- Strong teamwork, efficiency, and attention to detail in food presentation.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive kitchen tasks safely.
- Capable of extended standing and work with arms above shoulder height.
