ATCO Frontec is hiring a Dual Ticket Red Seal Plumber & Oil Burner Mechanic to join its team in Resolute Bay, NU. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and installing plumbing and oil-burning systems in a remote Arctic environment. The position follows a 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off rotation with 10-hour shifts, and all travel expenses are covered. The successful candidate will have extensive plumbing and heating system experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in extreme weather conditions.

The Oil Burner Mechanic / Red Seal Plumber is responsible for maintaining, installing, and repairing plumbing and oil heating systems.
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including potable water, sewage, and heating systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve water line, drainage, and fixture issues.
- Ensure compliance with plumbing codes and standards.
- Install, service, and repair oil-burning heating systems, including furnaces and boilers.
- Perform inspections, adjustments, and diagnostics to optimize system performance.
- Safely handle and dispose of oil and related materials per safety guidelines.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure safe and efficient system operations.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and installations.
- Follow workplace safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in safety meetings, emergency response drills, and training.
- Collaborate with electricians, HVAC technicians, and construction teams.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in plumbing and oil heating systems with strong problem-solving skills.
- Red Seal Journeyperson Certification in Plumbing and Certification in Oil Burner Mechanic (Dual Ticket) required.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining plumbing and oil heating systems.
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to challenging environments.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations, particularly in northern or industrial settings.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Comfortable working in remote and extreme weather conditions.
- Availability to work rotational shifts, including extended hours if needed.
- Final candidates must pass a pre-employment alcohol & drug test, fit-to-work medical test, criminal record check, and Security Clearance Check.
