Underground Miner - Brucejack Mine - 13 Days On / 13 Days Off - FIFO

Newmont is hiring Miner positions at the Brucejack Mine in northern British Columbia, a remote fly-in/fly-out underground gold mining operation located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. These 13 days on / 13 days off rotational roles support underground production through operation of mining equipment in positions such as Scoop Operator, Blaster, Longhole Driller, Mine Services, Grader Operator, and Water Truck Operator, with placement at Miner 1, Miner 2, or Miner 3 level based on experience, skills, and equipment qualifications. The position offers $48.73 to $63.35/hour, camp accommodations, onsite meals, paid commercial and charter flights, an annual travel allowance, production bonus, paid vacation, and a strong employer-paid benefits and pension package.

Responsibilities

The Miner supports underground production at Brucejack by operating assigned mining equipment, maintaining safety standards, and contributing to efficient underground mining activities across multiple miner classifications.

  • Demonstrate visible safety leadership and follow all site procedures in the underground mine.
  • Safely perform operational tasks while operating assigned underground mining equipment.
  • Conduct hazard identification and workplace inspections.
  • Complete equipment pre-start inspections and basic maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate shift reports and required documentation.
  • Support and mentor developing miners as needed.
  • Contribute to a respectful, high-performing underground team environment.
  • Operate mining equipment based on experience and assignment, including scoop, drills, cable bolter, water truck, grader, haul truck, and other underground mining machinery.

Requirements

Candidates for this fly-in/fly-out underground mining role should have mining equipment operating experience, a strong safety mindset, and the physical ability to work long underground shifts in a remote camp environment.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in an underground mining environment.
  • Experience operating mining equipment such as scoop, drills, cable bolter, water truck, grader, haul truck, or similar equipment.
  • Strong safety mindset and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  • Ability to pass a medical assessment.
  • Physically able to work 12-hour underground shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work rotating day and night shifts, including weekends.
  • Candidates will be placed at the applicable Miner level according to their skills, experience, and knowledge.
