Greenstone Gold Mines LP, owned by Equinox Gold Corp, is hiring a Mine Operations Trainer to support its high-performing team at the newly producing Greenstone Mine in Geraldton, Ontario. As one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines with a projected annual output of 400,000 ounces, the mine offers a dynamic and growth-focused environment. The Mine Trainer will be responsible for developing, delivering, and continuously improving training programs for open-pit mining operations, including simulator-based, classroom, and on-equipment instruction. This full-time position is supported with company-provided transportation and camp accommodations.

The Mine Operations Trainer will lead training efforts for the Mine Operations team, focusing on safety, competency, and performance improvement through structured learning programs.
- Develop and maintain compliant training programs and records
- Mentor equipment operators and evaluate their competencies
- Create job aids and technical training materials
- Deliver training in equipment cabs, classrooms, or simulators
- Facilitate computer-based and in-person instruction
- Assess training effectiveness and update materials as needed
- Collaborate with leadership to identify training needs and priorities
- Observe mining tasks to validate and standardize procedures
- Track employee progress and optimize training schedules
- Support training-related budgeting and strategic planning
Requirements
Candidates must have strong experience in open-pit mining operations and training, with a demonstrated ability to instruct and mentor in a fast-paced and inclusive work environment.
- 7+ years of technical experience in open-pit mining
- 5+ years of training experience, preferably in mining
- Train-the-Trainer certificate or equivalent required
- Ontario Surface Common Core is an asset
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience
- Experience in cross-cultural work environments is an asset
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and organizational ability
- Knowledge of employment legislation and compliance
- Excellent communication and coaching skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities with frequent interruptions
