Mine Manager - Brucejack Mine - Fly In/Out - Two Week Rotations

Newmont is seeking a Mine Manager to join the Brucejack Mine Operations team in northern British Columbia. This position is responsible for overseeing the management of mine operations, ensuring safety, production efficiency, and workforce leadership. The role is based at the Brucejack Mine, a remote drive-in, drive-out site with camp accommodations provided. The work rotation consists of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off, with additional travel as required. The Mine Manager will play a key role in driving strategic planning, operational excellence, and adherence to environmental and safety policies.

Responsibilities

The Mine Manager will be responsible for overseeing mine operations, ensuring safety compliance, and driving strategic initiatives for efficiency and productivity.

  • Lead and direct mine operations with a focus on safety, production, and cost management.
  • Ensure compliance with company, federal, and provincial mining regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical mine plans.
  • Monitor and improve employee safety performance and training.
  • Optimize operational assets and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee budget development and cost control measures.
  • Supervise and develop Mine Superintendents and workforce personnel.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in underground mining operations with leadership experience at the superintendent level.

  • Minimum 10-15 years of underground mining experience, with at least 7 years in supervisory roles.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Mine Superintendent; prior Mine Manager experience preferred.
  • Strong business acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and business improvement.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and mining software.
  • Qualifications and certifications in safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of the Mining Act and related legislation.
  • Bachelor's or University Degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
