Responsibilities
The Mine Operations Labourer is responsible for performing various tasks at the Greenstone Mine while ensuring a safe work environment. Responsibilities include:
- Operating light vehicles up to a 1-ton pickup to travel between work areas.
- Using various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Conducting Field Level Risk Assessments.
- Maintaining housekeeping of work areas and vehicles.
- Performing pre-operational checks on light vehicles and support equipment such as light plants and pumps.
- Completing logbooks and daily reports on delays.
- Communicating via two-way radios, hand signals, and horn signals to ensure safety.
Requirements
Candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a mining or industrial setting.
- Valid driver's license.
- Prior experience in an industrial or mining setting is an asset.
- Heavy Equipment Operator Training or relevant experience is an asset.
- Ontario Surface Common Core Training is an asset.
- Safety-conscious and self-motivated.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions accurately.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.
