The Mill Maintenance Millwright plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing mining equipment to ensure continuous production and safety. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing preventative and predictive maintenance related to millwright services
- Repairing, servicing, and rebuilding equipment
- Participating in developing preventative maintenance schedules
- Supporting departmental initiatives focused on maintenance and construction
- Installing, maintaining, modifying, and repairing machinery and stationary equipment
- Troubleshooting production problems and implementing corrective actions
- Conducting operational equipment checks
- Repairing pipes feeding TEWTP and performing outdoor work
- Collecting and analyzing maintenance data and preparing reports
- Operating mobile equipment and performing hot work (cutting, welding)
- Maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work environment
- Following health and safety policies
- Collaborating with planning and shop personnel to meet maintenance needs
- Documenting and communicating maintenance activities and irregularities
Requirements
The ideal candidate has substantial relevant experience and certifications, along with strong safety and teamwork skills. Required qualifications include:
- 5+ years relevant professional experience, including 2 years in a mining setting
- Journeyperson trade certificate as Industrial Mechanic/Millwright
- Dual trade certification considered an asset
- Strong commitment to safety
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Willingness to adapt and work inclusively
- Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in inclement weather
