Greenstone Gold Mines LP, a subsidiary of Equinox Gold Corp, operates the Greenstone Mine in Geraldton, Ontario. This large-scale open-pit gold mining operation started production in May 2024 with an expected annual production of nearly 400,000 ounces of gold over a 14-year initial mine life. The Mill Maintenance Millwright role involves repair, overhaul, and new build work on mining equipment, supporting maintenance schedules and safety, working on a 14/14 rotation at the Geraldton site. Responsibilities

The Mill Maintenance Millwright plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing mining equipment to ensure continuous production and safety. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing preventative and predictive maintenance related to millwright services
  • Repairing, servicing, and rebuilding equipment
  • Participating in developing preventative maintenance schedules
  • Supporting departmental initiatives focused on maintenance and construction
  • Installing, maintaining, modifying, and repairing machinery and stationary equipment
  • Troubleshooting production problems and implementing corrective actions
  • Conducting operational equipment checks
  • Repairing pipes feeding TEWTP and performing outdoor work
  • Collecting and analyzing maintenance data and preparing reports
  • Operating mobile equipment and performing hot work (cutting, welding)
  • Maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work environment
  • Following health and safety policies
  • Collaborating with planning and shop personnel to meet maintenance needs
  • Documenting and communicating maintenance activities and irregularities

Requirements

The ideal candidate has substantial relevant experience and certifications, along with strong safety and teamwork skills. Required qualifications include:

  • 5+ years relevant professional experience, including 2 years in a mining setting
  • Journeyperson trade certificate as Industrial Mechanic/Millwright
  • Dual trade certification considered an asset
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to adapt and work inclusively
  • Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in inclement weather
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks
