Maintenance Labourer - Rainy River Mine - 7x7 Rotation Days and Nights

New Gold is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Labourer for a temporary 3-month contract at Rainy River Mine in Emo, Ontario. This residential gold and silver producing mine site operates on a 7/7 rotation with 12-hour shifts. The role reports to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor and focuses on wash bay maintenance, equipment washing, routine inspections, and assisting maintenance tasks. No prior maintenance experience is required as on-the-job training is provided. This temporary position does not include camp or travel accommodations, with preference given to local residents. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.

Responsibilities

The Mobile Maintenance Labourer supports maintenance operations by ensuring cleanliness and assisting with equipment care.

  • Maintain wash bay safety and cleanliness.
  • Clean up wash bay daily, including putting away hoses, cords, tools, and supplies.
  • Wash mining equipment and components as directed.
  • Perform routine and daily equipment inspections.
  • Assist with normal maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Operate fuel trucks while following safety protocols.
  • Yard and shop clean-up duties.

Requirements

Applicants should have basic driver's license and mechanical aptitude; experience with heavy equipment or fuel trucks is an asset.

  • Valid driver's license, minimum class G2.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various conditions.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience operating commercial fuel trucks is an asset.
  • Knowledge or experience with heavy equipment considered an asset.
