New Gold is hiring a Mill Maintenance Electrician to join the maintenance team at Rainy River Mine, located 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario. This open-pit gold and silver mining operation offers camp accommodations and a 7/7 shift rotation. The electrician will be responsible for maintaining electrical systems within the mill, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring operational efficiency. Preference is given to local applicants from the Rainy River district, and a travel allowance or relocation package is provided.

The Mill Maintenance Electrician will conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure mill operations run safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate work activities with other construction projects.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on mill electrical systems.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain the safe operation of all applicable units.
- Communicate with other trades workers to coordinate maintenance activities.
- Complete work orders assigned by the Electrical Supervisor.
- Report maintenance status and completion details to the Electrical Supervisor.
Requirements
Candidates must have relevant electrical trade certification and experience in an industrial or mining setting.
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Red Seal Electrician.
- Instrumentation experience is an asset.
- Experience with Emerson DeltaV/PLC systems is an asset.
- Basic computer skills and SAP knowledge are preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an industrial or mining environment.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
