Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mine Maintenance Advisor to join its team in Geraldton, Ontario. Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, this role is responsible for coordinating maintenance operations for a fleet of mobile mining units. The position involves scheduling maintenance tasks, liaising with contractors, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. This site-based role operates on a 14/14 rotation with alternating day and night shifts.

Responsibilities

The Mine Maintenance Advisor oversees and manages maintenance activities for mobile mining equipment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and scheduling regular maintenance for mobile units
  • Prioritizing tasks based on urgency and operational requirements
  • Collaborating with dispatch and reporting mechanical issues
  • Liaising with external contractors and ensuring safety compliance
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and inspection logs
  • Conducting regular inspections and recommending repairs
  • Generating fleet status and cost reports
  • Overseeing spare parts inventory and coordinating procurement
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices
  • Providing troubleshooting support and liaising with operators
  • Monitoring program effectiveness and suggesting improvements
  • Identifying trends and implementing long-term maintenance solutions

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings technical knowledge and organizational ability to mobile fleet maintenance. Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance coordination or fleet management
  • Experience with mobile mining units preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Familiarity with maintenance or fleet management software
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
