Newmont is hiring Light Equipment Operators for the 2026 Winter Snow Removal Team at the Brucejack Gold Mine in Northern British Columbia. Brucejack is a high-grade underground gold mine located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart and operates as a fly-in/fly-out site with pick-up points across Western Canada. The position works a 13 days on / 13 days off rotational schedule with 12-hour shifts. Light Equipment Operators support Surface Operations by performing winter snow removal and operating rock trucks, skid steers, crew trucks, and small excavators to maintain safe site access and operational continuity during severe winter conditions. Newmont provides private camp accommodations with individual washrooms, onsite meals, recreation and fitness facilities, transportation arrangements, and a travel allowance.

The Light Equipment Operator supports winter snow removal and safe surface operations at Newmont’s Brucejack Gold Mine in northern British Columbia.
- Operate light mobile equipment, including rock trucks, skid steers, crew trucks, and small excavators.
- Perform snow removal work to maintain safe site access and operational continuity during winter conditions.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance checks before and during operation.
- Conduct job hazard assessments and follow site safety procedures for all assigned tasks.
- Participate in safety meetings and maintain compliance with Brucejack site regulations.
- Work safely and effectively in remote camp and challenging winter weather conditions.
- Contribute to a productive, team-focused work environment that protects personnel, equipment, and mine operations.
Requirements
Applicants for this Brucejack Light Equipment Operator position require proven equipment operating experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work extended shifts in remote winter conditions.
- Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Have two to three years of equipment operating experience.
- Demonstrate the ability to operate light equipment safely and efficiently.
- Be physically capable of lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
- Be comfortable working 12-hour shifts in all weather conditions.
- WHMIS certification is preferred.
- Previous remote site or camp experience is considered an asset.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
- Complete required pre-employment drug and alcohol testing for the drug- and alcohol-free workplace.
