Newmont is hiring a Light Duty Mechanic for its Brucejack Gold Mine, located in the rugged alpine terrain of northern British Columbia, 65 kilometres north of Stewart. This fly-in/fly-out position includes private camp accommodations with en-suite rooms, full meal services, fitness and recreational amenities, and a supportive community atmosphere. The role operates on a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotation and offers a competitive wage of CA$61.20 per hour. Mechanic responsibilities include diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of light vehicles and mobile equipment critical to site operations.

Responsibilities
As a Light Duty Mechanic, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing light vehicles and equipment essential to mine operations.
- Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on light vehicles and systems
- Maintain and repair brakes, suspension, engines, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Conduct routine services such as oil changes and lubrications
- Test, adjust, and calibrate systems per manufacturer specs
- Organize and track parts inventory and work areas
- Document all maintenance and report findings to supervisors
Requirements
Ideal candidates should bring strong mechanical expertise, certification, and adaptability to cold, remote environments.
- Interprovincial Red Seal Certification - Automotive Equipment Mechanic
- 4+ years' experience with gas-powered equipment
- Experience with ATVs, snowmobiles, and snow cats is an asset
- Valid driver's license
- WHMIS and TDG certification or willingness to obtain
- Physically fit and able to work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong communication and team skills
