NACG is hiring a Journeyperson Welder with a truck for the Suncor Top Shop in Fort McMurray, AB. This role involves fleet repairs, fabrication, and welding of heavy equipment. The position operates on a 14/14 shift rotation, with overtime paid after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week. Transportation to and from the site is provided, but camp accommodations are not available. A $5/hour Living Out Allowance is included.

Responsibilities
The Journeyperson Welder will be responsible for welding, fabrication, and repairs on heavy equipment.
- Perform fleet repairs, including frame and dump body repairs, dozer ice lugging, pin lancing, implement repairs, and crack gouging
- Fabricate various items such as numbers, signs, and stands
- Work both indoors and outdoors as required
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and procedures
- Utilize proper tools, including Stick, MIG, wire-feed welders, plasma cutters, and lancing equipment
- Operate mobile truck cranes and other welding-related equipment
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have extensive welding experience, a fully equipped welding truck, and necessary certifications.
- Red Seal/Alberta Journeyperson Welder certification
- Heavy equipment repair experience (trucks, dozers, shovels, excavators)
- Proficiency in Stick, MIG, and wire-feed welding
- Experience with radiograph welding, Cooper-heat, plasma cutting, and overhead/mobile truck cranes
- Welding truck outfitted with proper welding deck
- $5M Liability Insurance
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Recent Driver's Abstract
- Valid Crane Inspection & CVIP
- Valid certifications in CSO, Silica Awareness, Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness, OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness, and H2S Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
