NACG is hiring a Journeyperson Welder for the Kearl site in Fort McMurray. This position involves performing welding repairs on mining equipment, including haul trucks, excavators, shovels, and dozers. The role operates on a 14x14 rotation with camp accommodations provided. The Journeyperson Welder will be responsible for welding repairs and fabrication on heavy mining equipment.
- Perform repairs on mining equipment such as haul trucks, excavators, shovels, and dozers
- Develop work scopes and execute welding tasks
- Fabricate from blueprints
- Complete reports and fill out work orders
- Follow NACG codes of practice and safety procedures
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Red Seal or Alberta Journeyperson Welder certification
- 1-2 years of experience in heavy equipment repair (trucks, dozers, shovels, excavators)
- Experience with mobile equipment repairs, ice lugging, lancing, and gouging
- Proficiency in Stick, MIG, and large wire-feed welders
- Experience with radiograph, Cooper-heat, plasma cutter, lance, overhead crane
- Able to work outside if necessary
- Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written)
- Intermediate computer skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and recent abstract
- Valid CSO and Wood Buffalo Wildlife ticket
- Ability to pass pre-employment fitness-to-work tests
