Greenstone Gold Mines LP, owned by Equinox Gold Corp, is hiring a Red Seal Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician for its large-scale open-pit gold operation at Greenstone Mine in Geraldton, Ontario. With annual gold production targeting 400,000 ounces and a 14-year mine life, the mine presents a strong opportunity for skilled technicians to support a major Canadian mining operation. The role focuses on performing advanced diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls on Komatsu, CAT, and Epiroc heavy mining equipment. The position offers a remote camp setting with transportation provided from designated pick-up points and includes onsite OEM training.

The Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician will support the Greenstone Mine by maintaining and repairing critical mining equipment to ensure operational reliability and safety.
- Perform preventive maintenance, assembly, repairs, and complete overhauls on heavy mining equipment
- Diagnose faults using computerized testing tools to determine repairs needed
- Recommend repair strategies and suggest performance improvements
- Mentor apprentices and assist with skill development
- Interpret technical manuals and work orders effectively
- Complete detailed reports and maintenance documentation
- Maintain a clean and well-equipped mine-owned service truck
- Promote and follow workplace safety rules and health legislation
Requirements
Candidates must be certified heavy equipment technicians with strong mechanical skills and a safety-first mindset, ready to work in a remote and physically demanding mining environment.
- Red Seal Journeyperson certification required
- Valid driver's license
- Experience repairing Komatsu, CAT, and Epiroc equipment is an asset
- Comfortable with heights and physically demanding tasks (up to 50 lbs)
- Experience in remote mining environments preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interpret manuals and technical documents
- Self-motivated with minimal supervision required
