ATCO Frontec is hiring a Red Seal Journeyman Electrician for its operations in Resolute Bay, NU. This role involves conducting preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, installations, and modifications of electrical systems in a remote setting. The position follows an 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off rotation with 10-hour shifts, and all travel costs are covered. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, experience working in extreme weather conditions, and a commitment to safety standards.

Responsibilities

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for electrical system maintenance, inspections, and compliance with safety regulations.

  • Conduct inspections, testing, and reporting of equipment deficiencies.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and quality repairs on electrical systems.
  • Provide input for planned and scheduled work and assist in project completion.
  • Assist with scoping, estimating, planning, and executing new electrical projects.
  • Ensure all installations, repairs, and maintenance comply with industry codes and safety standards.
  • Work efficiently in extreme weather conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have extensive electrical experience with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Journeyman Certified Electrician (Red Seal) with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Valid certificates in Fall Arrest, Confined Space, and Elevated Work Platform.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience working in a remote environment is considered an asset.
  • Commitment to workplace safety requirements and procedures.
  • Final candidates must pass a pre-employment alcohol & drug test, fit-to-work medical test, criminal record check, and Security Clearance Check.
