Wicehtowak Frontec Services (WFS), a majority Indigenous-owned partnership between GGDL and ATCO Frontec, is hiring a Journeyperson Carpenter for the Jansen Discovery Lodge in Leroy, Saskatchewan. Working a 14/14 rotation, the role builds, repairs, restores, and installs structural wood/steel elements across a large workforce housing facility that supports the BHP Jansen potash project. On-site accommodations and meals are provided during shifts, and the position spans full-scope carpentry-from partitions, framing, and finishes to shop work and hardware installation-within a safety-driven, 24/7 remote camp environment.

Responsibilities
This role maintains and improves lodge facilities by delivering full-scope commercial/light-industrial carpentry, both in-field and in the carpentry shop.
- Repair and maintain doors, floors, windows, partitions, ceilings, and building exteriors; build and install door/window framing.
- Construct wooden/steel structures (partitions, office additions), perform sheeting, rough carpentry, and final finishes.
- Perform shop work: operate planers, jointers, drill presses, power saws, sanders, and other woodworking machinery.
- Install and service locks, doorknobs, and building hardware; repair and maintain hand/power tools and saws.
- Read and work from blueprints, drawings, specifications, and sketches to execute accurate builds and repairs.
- Complete assigned maintenance/carpentry service requests and collaborate with site teams to meet scope and timelines.
- Follow health and safety policies and safe work practices; perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Applicants bring Red Seal credentials, multi-disciplinary carpentry skills, and proven safety competence in a commercial/light-industrial setting.
- Red Seal Certification in Carpentry (Journeyperson).
- 5+ years of field experience in commercial/light industrial construction and renovations.
- Current OSSA/OSHA-approved certifications in Fall Arrest, Confined Space, and Elevated Work Platform.
- Ability to read/interpret blueprints, drawings, specs; work effectively from sketches.
- Strong knowledge of practices, methods, materials, tools, and hazards/safety precautions of the carpentry trade.
- Capability to plan, lay out, and perform carpentry work of average complexity; estimate time and materials.
- Knowledge of cabinet-making techniques and finishing practices.
