Responsibilities

The Ironworker will work on structural steel erection, rigging, and industrial construction in Fort McMurray.

  • Erect structural steel structures, bridges, and gangways.
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications for accurate installations.
  • Pre-assemble panelization components.
  • Work with rigging and heavy lifts, including cranes and derricks.
  • Ensure work is completed within set deadlines.
  • Communicate progress and safety updates to site supervision.
  • Work at heights and in industrial settings.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have industrial ironworking experience and relevant certifications.

  • Journeyperson Structural or Generalist Certificate from a recognized provincial training authority.
  • Previous experience in an industrial or live plant setting.
  • Experience with layout, man lifts, and connecting mods (asset).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
