Responsibilities
The Inventory Control Clerk ensures accurate, efficient, and safe management of all camp inventory, materials, and supplies to support northern operations.
- Maintain precise records of materials, food, and supplies within the inventory system.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies to prevent shortages across all departments (catering, janitorial, housekeeping, maintenance, commissary).
- Coordinate warehouse deliveries, shipping documentation, and proper record storage.
- Implement and maintain proper storage and handling procedures compliant with safety and quality standards.
- Organize warehouse layouts for efficient material access and stock control.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory method to minimize waste and discrepancies.
- Track product expiration dates, ensuring timely use and communication with departments.
- Prepare detailed reports on material consumption for food, water, laundry, and maintenance.
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety of warehouse areas.
- Oversee commissary operations, vending machine stocking, and site transfers between sea-cans and warehouses.
Requirements
Applicants must bring hands-on inventory management experience, organizational precision, and adaptability for remote Arctic work conditions.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a storekeeper or in a similar inventory/warehouse role (mining or hospitality industry preferred).
- Knowledge of perishable food storage and handling practices.
- High school diploma required; certification in logistics or supply chain management is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with recent driver's abstract.
- Experience using POS systems, inventory software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail, record-keeping accuracy, and time management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced camp environment.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and standing for long periods.
