Horizon North, part of Dexterra Group, is hiring Housekeepers for its Coastal BC remote camp operations near Prince Rupert, British Columbia. This essential camp-based position ensures high standards of cleanliness and comfort for all guests by maintaining tidy, sanitary, and organized living spaces. Working under the Head Housekeeper or Camp Manager, the Housekeeper performs room cleaning, linen changes, laundry duties, and general sanitation tasks across camp facilities. The role offers a 20-day on, 10-day off rotation, competitive hourly pay of $20.00, extended health and dental benefits, and transportation from designated pickup points.

Responsibilities

The Housekeeper ensures guest accommodations and common areas are maintained to the highest cleanliness standards within a Horizon North remote camp facility.

  • Clean up to 30 guest rooms per day depending on occupancy levels.
  • Perform full housekeeping services including bed making, linen changes, vacuuming, and dusting.
  • Sanitize bathrooms, mirrors, and windows thoroughly.
  • Empty garbage and recycling from all sleeping and communal areas.
  • Wash, fold, and distribute towels, linens, and bedding.
  • Load and unload laundry and linen trucks and manage supply inventory.
  • Maintain accurate records of bedding and assist with inventory control.
  • Follow all safety, hygiene, and cleaning standards, including WHMIS compliance.

Requirements

Applicants should have previous housekeeping or janitorial experience and the ability to perform physically demanding cleaning tasks in a camp environment.

  • Minimum 6 months of housekeeping or janitorial experience.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, procedures, and equipment.
  • Experience in remote lodges, hotels, or institutional facilities is an asset.
  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Must achieve 80% or higher on mandatory WHMIS certification test.
