The Blackwater Mine Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining clean, hygienic, and comfortable living accommodations for employees and other personnel at the remote Northern British Columbia worksite. The role includes detailed bedroom and bathroom cleaning, linen service, floor care, waste removal, and compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in camp bedrooms, bathrooms, living units, and assigned accommodation areas.
- Make beds and replace used sheets, pillowcases, and other linens.
- Distribute clean towels, toiletries, and required guest supplies throughout the camp.
- Complete linen cleaning and support the proper handling of clean and used bedding.
- Dust furniture, draperies, fixtures, ledges, and other surfaces.
- Vacuum carpets and other assigned flooring as required.
- Sweep and mop floors in bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways, and additional camp areas.
- Empty garbage bins and remove waste, debris, and discarded materials.
- Clean windows, walls, baseboards, ceilings, and other interior surfaces.
- Use cleaning products, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow applicable government regulations and ATCO Frontec health and safety policies.
- Maintain appropriate cleanliness and sanitation standards within a remote mining camp environment.
- Work efficiently while completing repetitive physical housekeeping tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Perform additional housekeeping and camp services duties as assigned.
Requirements
Candidates for the ATCO Frontec Housekeeper position must have commercial housekeeping experience and previous experience working in a remote camp. The role requires physical stamina, effective communication, organizational ability, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to satisfy employment screening requirements for the Blackwater Mine site.
- Minimum 1 year of commercial housekeeping experience in a remote camp or hotel environment.
- Previous remote camp housekeeping experience required.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Physically capable of repetitive bending, stretching, lifting, standing, and cleaning activities.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete required online training.
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain quality standards in a fast-paced remote camp environment.
- Ability to follow workplace procedures, government regulations, and health and safety requirements.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Available to work a rotational schedule at the Blackwater Mine camp in Northern British Columbia.
