Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician - Heavy Duty Equipment Technician will handle the upkeep and repair of mining equipment in a surface and underground setting. Key duties include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing Bolters, Drills, Haul Trucks, Graders, Dozers, Excavators, Shovels, Loaders, and more.
  • Performing inspections to detect faults and malfunctions.
  • Conducting routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating equipment.
  • Adjusting or replacing defective parts and components in various systems.
  • Disassembling and reassembling complex machinery (engines, powertrains, hydraulics, etc.).
  • Testing equipment post-repair and servicing attachments as needed.

Requirements

Ideal candidates will bring technical qualifications and extensive experience in heavy equipment maintenance in mining or construction environments.

  • Post-secondary education in Heavy Duty Equipment Technician.
  • Red Seal Certification (Interprovincial) is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of Journeyperson experience in an industrial environment.
  • Proven experience with CAT, Epiroc, Hitachi, Sandvik, and Maclean equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems.
  • Ability to read schematics and use computerized diagnostic tools.
