ATCO Frontec is hiring Heavy Equipment Operators in Resolute Bay, Nunavut for a rotational role supporting construction, maintenance, and material handling operations in a remote northern work environment. This 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off position involves operating heavy equipment used for road construction and maintenance, snow removal, grading, and cargo handling to support site infrastructure and daily operations. Responsibilities

The Heavy Equipment Operator supports site construction, road maintenance, snow clearing, and material handling operations in Resolute Bay by safely operating a range of heavy equipment and maintaining equipment readiness.

  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dump trucks, backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, and graders to excavate, move, load, and grade earth, rock, and gravel.
  • Operate snow blowers and plough trucks to remove snow from roads and parking lots.
  • Spread or compact road surface materials during road construction and maintenance.
  • Move, load, and unload cargo and materials using heavy equipment.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment before use.
  • Clean, lubricate, and refill equipment to maintain safe and effective operation.

Requirements

Candidates for this remote Heavy Equipment Operator role should have strong operating experience, a valid commercial driver’s licence, and the ability to meet security, safety, and fitness requirements for northern site work.

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of heavy equipment operating experience.
  • Valid Class 3 driver’s license (required).
  • Clean driver’s abstract/record.
  • Ability to pass an extensive background check.
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing.
  • Ability to pass a fit-to-work test.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
