Responsibilities
The Heavy Equipment Operator supports site construction, road maintenance, snow clearing, and material handling operations in Resolute Bay by safely operating a range of heavy equipment and maintaining equipment readiness.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dump trucks, backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, and graders to excavate, move, load, and grade earth, rock, and gravel.
- Operate snow blowers and plough trucks to remove snow from roads and parking lots.
- Spread or compact road surface materials during road construction and maintenance.
- Move, load, and unload cargo and materials using heavy equipment.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment before use.
- Clean, lubricate, and refill equipment to maintain safe and effective operation.
Requirements
Candidates for this remote Heavy Equipment Operator role should have strong operating experience, a valid commercial driver’s licence, and the ability to meet security, safety, and fitness requirements for northern site work.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of heavy equipment operating experience.
- Valid Class 3 driver’s license (required).
- Clean driver’s abstract/record.
- Ability to pass an extensive background check.
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing.
- Ability to pass a fit-to-work test.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
- Ability to operate with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
