This full-time role is field-based with travel to multiple job sites, supporting a proactive safety culture across the company. As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will champion a culture of safety across job sites, ensuring compliance and promoting best practices.
- Deliver field-level safety orientations for employees and subcontractors.
- Lead and participate in impactful safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.
- Coach workers and supervisors on safe work practices.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, ensuring follow-up and communication.
- Identify trends and suggest improvements to safety programs.
- Travel between project locations and serve as a key on-site safety resource.
- Promote teamwork and proactive safety engagement across crews.
Requirements
Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered for the Health and Safety Advisor role:
- Minimum 5 years of safety advisory experience in civil construction or heavy equipment environments.
- NCSO or OH&S designation required; CSO/CSTS, Ground Disturbance, H2S Alive, and First Aid required.
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead independently.
- Clean driving record and willingness to travel within Canada.
- Physically able to work outdoors, lift up to 50 lbs, and stand/walk for extended periods.
